The Maldives - Scuba Divers Paradise

So you may wonder why I qualified my lens title by saying 'Scuba Divers' Paradise' when it is just simply a paradise for all? I could wax lyrical for hours about the place, the people & the culture so I thought I'd try to stick to one small aspect for now & that's the underwater world to be found just a few yards from the beach on many of the islands.

For those who don't know, The Maldives is made up of over 1000 small islands strung like pearls across 1000 miles of Indian Ocean, many too small to be inhabited at all. The airport is made up of several islands, joined together by construction to make an area big enough for international flights & looking out of the window as you land for the first time is kinda scary!
