Audi e-bike W?rthersee lets you pop wheelies eco-style, plays nice with your smartphone
We're no stranger to e-bikes here, but most of the examples we've seen so far have very much been meant for A-to-B rides. Audi's aiming to fix that with its e-bike Wörthersee prototype. The carbon fiber transport not only has a strong 2.3kW motor -- the most powerful ever in a bike, so says Audi -- but can use that power for tricks. You can flick the Wörthersee into a wheelie mode and either shift your weight around or leave it fully automatic, depending on the fierceness of your stunt skills. Not that it'll be a timid ride if you prefer to keep both wheels on the ground, as a motor-assisted pedaling mode will take you up to 50MPH, and you can still ride at 31MPH if you're not keen on using your legs. That's faster than the already speedy Grace One City we tried, folks. The vorsprung durch technik also comes through a smartphone tie-in, although in a much more stunt-savvy way than the app- and tuning-focused Ford E-Bike Concept: it tracks video and trick runs, both for its own game system and for bragging rights on Facebook.
With a very light 3.5-pound carbon fiber frame and a quick 2.5-hour charge-up time, the e-bike Wörthersee sounds like a wild ride that will charge quickly enough for a spin on your lunch break, but we wouldn't rush to put down a deposit. Audi is calling the prototype a "show bike," which is a sign than the design as-is won't show up at the local sports store. We'll let you know if the Wörthersee or a more pragmatic descendant makes the leap to a dealer.

Americans Now Spend More Time On Facebook Mobile Than Its Website
All those minutes reading your news feed in bed, messaging friends over lunch, and browsing photos on the bus really add up. Time spent on Facebook's mobile site and apps per month (441 minutes) has finally surpassed usage of its classic website (391 minutes) -- for Americans who do use Facebook on the go according to the latest report from comScore. And that's actually a big problem for the social network. Facebook usually shows four to seven ads per page on its website, but only a few ads per day in its mobile news feed. ?That means it makes a lot less money when you visit from your little devices.?In fact, yesterday Facebook had to warn potential investors?for upcoming initial public offering of stock that the more people who access it from mobile instead of the web, the worse its business is doing.one world trade center bks new dark knight rises trailer khloe and lamar oklahoma city thunder act rajon rondo
ATD: Yahoo's CEO Scott Thompson to step down amidst degree scandal
While thousands upon thousands of Americans are celebrating graduation weekend with degree in hand, it looks as if the CEO of one particular internet company will be wondering why he lied about his. After weeks of investigating, word on the street has it that freshly appointed (as in January 4th) CEO Scott Thompson will be "stepping down." In other words, he's being canned. The news comes from an All Things D report on the matter, with the official word expected soon. The scandal took hold a few weeks back, with the official Yahoo bio listing a computer science degree that he allegedly didn't even have. The company line is that he's bolting for "personal reasons," but seriously -- what are the chances these "reasons" would've emerged sans scandal? It's bruited that Yahoo's global media head Ross Levinsohn will be filling Scott's shoes for now, but there's no word yet on who the firm's next CEO will be. It's a shame, but it sure feels like a revolving door in Yahoo's corner office.

Rogers preparing for launch of the Samsung Galaxy S III
Remember a few days ago when an ad for Rogers popped up, seemingly to proclaim their version of the Samsung Galaxy S III would come with the Exynos processor and LTE? Well, we still don't have a definitive answer on whether or not the ad was accurate but we do know now that we're at least one step closer to finding out.
A news bulletin has been sent out to Rogers employee's letting them all know the obvious and confirmed -- the Samsung Galaxy S III is coming to Rogers very soon. Needless to say, we'll keep digging for clarification which shouldn't take too much longer now that Rogers is relaying information internally.

Pebble smartwatch sells out initial supplies, enters Kickstarter hall of fame with $10m raised
It looks like adding Bluetooth 4.0 was just the trick for taking the Pebble smartwatch over the edge -- and by over the edge, we mean to an insane level of Kickstarter success. The watch not only crossed the $10 million fundraising mark -- it aimed for a paltry $100k -- but its initial 85,000 units are now sold out. The campaign still has eight days to go, and though additional backers won't get in on that first wave of Pebbles, there's a second batch on the way.
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

The Vampire Diaries Season Finale Stunner: Twists and a Turn
Nina Dobrev used the crotch of Conan O'Brien for a nationally-televised Yoga pose this week. But that move was actually NOT the most surprising development involving this actress over the past couple days!
SPOILER WARNING: Stop reading now if you have not yet watched last night's season three finale of The Vampire Diaries.
To conclude an action-filled hour on this CW thriller, Dobrev's Elena Gilbert appeared to turn into a vampire. Viewers were told that blood from these creatures had been placed in her system by Dr. Fell and, upon being rescued from yet another bridge-related car accident, the episode concluded with a single image:
Elena, shooting up, awake... and transitioning?
We won't know for certain until September, but the season finale delivered a number of other surprises as well:
- Bonnie cast a spell to keep Klaus alive - inside Tyler's body.
- Elena chose Stefan over Damon.
- Alaric died. Again. For good this time.
- We saw, via flashback, that Elena actually met Damon prior to meeting Stefan, but was compelled to forget the interaction.
- Elena is the most chipper morning person on the planet.
